    A 14 year old girl was killed at that pier by a bullshark in the early 2000s. Never ever ever swim or float or play near a pier. Nice catch.

    No thanks. I could never fish like that, or on a party boat with 100 foreigners blabing and tangling up lines darting around people. . Why I moved to a small town and far away from people. I fish at 4am and alone.

    Yeah we had an 8 foot nurse shark come 30 feet to the shore of the beach. It was moving slow, so everybody got out of the water quickly. Still a wonderful sight for me nonetheless.

    I usually see a small group of large bottle nose dolphins that play around this pier that like to feed off of the bycatch that fisherman throw back in the water. There's always sum asshole from Tennessee or ga that tries to hook them too. friggin morons.

    Funny how everytime the subject of makos come up inshore noone ever wants to believe it. Even after videos , pics , and one even being landed off the same pier. Its always around cobia season that we see them. One day people will wisen up and realize there are no fences out there to keep them seperated.

    ROFL -- Mako? Seriously dude? If that's a mako I'm 25 again and I haven't seen 25 in 40 years. Way way way too sluggish to be a mako - makos tend to prefer open water and offshore ledges - and it's the wrong color for a mako - looks more like a white tip to me -- the long pectoral fins and the rounded dorsal fin are clues - plus you can see the white along the tail and pectoral fins -- they come in around the pier to feed on stingrays and crustaceans and are harmless to humans - they are classified as Vulnerable (VU) on the IUCN Red List.

  • @cassunte4540

    The pectoral fins are too long and it's cruising too slow and sluggish to be a mako. I doubt it's a mako.... reason why.... Makos are speedsters and even in a chum slick they dart around quick! Perhaps a big Blue Shark! There are longfin Makos though, but they are Offshore Pelagics and you'll probably get struck My lightning before you'll see a Longfin Mako inshore! Nice encounter though.....

    • @HappyHermitt
      @HappyHermitt 16 дней назад

      They're fast when frenzied. They're not always pedal to the metal. Also, there are many videos of Makos being caught from the beaches of the gulf coast. They DO come in close.
